Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use Rudud: with a keyboard alone, with a screen reader, zoomed in, in Arabic or in English.
Our target
We work to conform to WCAG 2.2 at level AA, the standard most accessibility laws refer to.
Scope
This statement covers:
- The public site at rudud.app, the legal pages and the support page.
- The sign-in, sign-up and password reset pages.
- The dashboard: automations, people, account and notifications.
It does not cover the iOS app, or the Meta, Google and Apple pages you pass through when you link an account or sign in, which are outside our control.
What we do
- A keyboard is enough on every page, and the first Tab stop is a "Skip to content" link.
- Focus is always visible as a blue outline, and is never hidden under the top bar.
- Contrast is at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for the focus outline, measured by an automated test that fails if it drops.
- Every field has a name, and errors are read out to a screen reader the moment they appear.
- Language and direction are declared on every page: Arabic right to left, English left to right.
- Reduced motion is respected: if you ask your system for less motion, you get none.
- Pasting and password managers are allowed when you sign in or sign up.
- An automated check (axe) runs on every change to the code, and stops it on any critical or serious violation.
Known gaps
We list them as they are, and are working to close them:
- Input and card borders are faint, under the 3:1 contrast asked of field boundaries. Each field's name is shown above it, and focus on it shows a blue outline.
- Post pictures in the automation builder have no description of the picture itself. The post's caption is read instead, or its type when it has no caption.
- Some labels in the post picker are very small, smaller than the smallest text elsewhere in the interface.
- The automation builder's steps are not yet covered by the automated check in every state; its first step and the saved automation's page are.
- The emails we send have not been checked against this standard yet.
